What exercise catergory does a fitness ball go into?
I have been logging my calories and fitness routine on a website and I recently got a fitness ball but that type of exercise isn’t on the site. I’ve searched all ways possible… medicine ball, fitness ball, exercise ball, ect… so my question would be, as far as calorie burning goes, should I log it as pilates? Low Impact Calisthenics? What catergory does it fall under?
I am using mydailyplate
Are you using Fitday?
I would log it under light/moderate strength training actually.

I wanted to start a regular workout routine that i could do at home with basic equipment like treadmills, fitness balls, ab lounge, etc. What is the recommended amount of time for cardio workouts? The goal is mostly weight loss (no more than 10 to 15 pounds) and body firming… not really any lifting or muscle building. What I’m basically asking for is a schedule: for example, warming up, then the exercise itself, the cool down, etc. Any recommendations on how many days and how long to do it?
Learn about aerobic exercise. Query the Internet using “aerobic exercise” to learn about this. You want to maintain your heart rate in an aerobic zone for an hour, five days a week. All you need is a treadmill, stationary bike, rowing machine, ski machine (nordic trak), steps, jump rope, free weights, or anything to do the exercises you like most. Of couse you want to ease into the exercise for 5-10 minutes and you want to slow down for 5-10 minutes at the end.
If you want to firm up, get a book like “Body for Life” for detailed instructions on how to determine reps.
Can using a fitness ball and dumbells provide a complete workout?
I know this won’t replace cardio, but will it do enough to replace going to the gym? I’m looking to lose weight and retain muscle, not bulk up.
That’s plenty of equipment for strength and flexibility, assuming you have enough different sized dumbbells of sufficient weight, but it won’t do anything for your cardiovascular system.
You don’t need a gym for that either, all you need is a pair of running shoes and a front door……
I think I’m in decent shape (4-time Ironman), and the only time I go to the YMCA is to use the pool.
how can i inflate the pro-fitness exercise ball i got from argos yesterday?
it says to use a bicycle pump attachment - well we have loads and none fit so went out and bought a pump that blows up footballs as well thinking that might help but that didn’t work. so erm don’t know what to try next. any ideas?
I’m 5′ 9″, and woud like to buy a fitness ball/Gym ball to use at my desk.
I tried a 65cm, but that was way to small. What would be a good size for me to buy?
thanks
