How Much does it cost for an LA Fitness membership? ( San diego, CA)?

I want to join LA fitness here in San diego. I went on the website and they do not list any prices. I like to work out at home, but I think I would enjoy a wider range of physical activity. Does anyone know how much I should expect to pay when I sign up, and possibly how much it will be monthly?

I just joined the LA Fitness in Saugus, Massachusetts for $120 and 29.99 a month. I emailed the club through their corporate website regarding my desire to join but that the club was priced just out of my budget. I got a phone call back a couple days later from the Vice-President of Sales in the Northeast and he is the one who gave me this deal. Initiation prices will most likely vary depending on the promotions running but expect the base memberships to look something like this.

$150 Initiation - can be reduced to $75 if you haggle
$34.99 monthly - Month to Month membership but expect to pay for 1st and last month’s dues upfront. This membership entitles you to access all of the gym’s locations nationwide.

Other memberships can be arranged based on the hours you want to go, the amenities you want, and where you want access to the facilities.

Memberships prices are flexible but not in a way that is beneficial to the members. If you want to pay less upfront than expect to pay a much higher monthly fee. If you want to pay less each month than expect to pay a much higher initiation fee.

My advice would be to print off the 3-day free trial membership and see what you think of the facilities. All of the gyms are pretty much the same. Email the guys at LA Fitness. The email will eventually trickle down to someone that can help and the manager/vice president that calls you back will be relieved to talk to you about joining since the majority of the calls they take are from aggravated members.

Try the club out though before you join to make sure it is the right fit for you. They seem to have priced themselves well but check out their competition and see what they have to offer. Good luck!
