Does anyone know which schools have fitness instructor/personal trainer certificate programs in NYC? I am having difficulty finding programs. Please Help. Thanks
I think i told you that i will be your personal instructor..Why pay all that money when you got a hansom guy like me. Only for nothing girl.
I’ve already got a head start from tons of reading, personal experience and helping my friend lose 35 pounds…now I want to get certified to be ‘legit’. Where do I start? What is the best Association to join? Who is the leader in Fitness Trainer Certification?
Isa.com, http://www.ncsf.org they all say the are the leaders in personal training. Best bet is if you want to work at a local gym call them and ask them what certifications they accept. I did Issa.com they were pretty good and the book u get has alot of info in it.
So heres the story Im currently 15 and with my GCSE Exams coming up this term ive considered a job as a Fitness Instructor for some time now,but my dilemma is What Grades or experience you need to get enrolled in a cource. Also does anyone now what i can do to help my progress towards my Dream job and help my chances.
Thanks
You just need to become certified by one of the national cerification organizations. For example: the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Just study the testing materials, find a testing location near you, and take the test. That’s it. Oh, and experience working in a gym would help, so go get a job in a gym when you turn 18, and start building your resume.

Is the ACE fitness certification for personal trainer nationally recognized by most gyms? Anyone know what the test is like?
Yes, the ACE certification is generally recognized. However, having a variety of certifications from different organizations isn’t a bad idea either. The ACSM and YMCA have several generalized personal training certifications, and special interest groups often have other certifications (the Yoga Alliance has yoga instructor certifications, for example). According to the website, “Once you successfully pass the ACE Personal Trainer certification exam you will have demonstrated your knowledge of basic exercise science, nutrition, fitness assessment, exercise programming, and instructional and spotting techniques.” If you decide to take the exam, be sure to study ACE recommendations for spotting, instructional techniques, and exercise programming, as these especially may vary from the stances and suggestions provided by other organizations.
would you like me to create a nutrition plan for you to help you lose weight, or gain muscle?
I am a certified personal trainer with 24 hour fitness. I have 3 certifications NASM cpt, NASM pes, 24 hour fitness and APEX for nutrition and supplements, and I have a black belt in karate.
Yes, I am in my 40s and have found that it cannot loose the weight. Just when I think I am on a down scale, I gain 3 or more lbs back. It is hard to not give up. Right now I am taking belly dancing classes and practice at home daily for 45 minutes, I work out on a stability ball (which I love every morning) for 30 minutes and I try to eat several small healthy low fat, low carb meals. I find that pasta is my enemy, even the whole grain or wheat pastas. Rice and small amounts of potatoes are not as bad, but still not the best.
What do you suggest?
please let me know the institutions offering fitness training courses or personal training courses?

I am thinking of studying with NESTA (national exercise and sports training assoication) they have certiciations for nutrition, wellness, life coaching and fitnes. Are they cerditable? I want to make sure people will want to hire me with these certifications.
I have a pretty uptight opinion on personal training certifications. I am certified through the NATA, NSCA, and NASM.
In my opinion, for general personal trainers, your certification won’t do much in the eye of the public (sadly). If you can’t market yourself your certificate won’t make a difference.
