Coffee, good or bad for your health?

There have been recent studies that suggest that coffee is actually good for your health- here is link that supports that claim

http://www.usnews.com/health/diet-fitness/articles/2009/06/25/is-coffee-bad-for-you-actually-drinking-coffee-may-be-good-for-you.html

But I’m still hearing rumors that it is bad for you (i.e weight gain, addiction, insomnia)

So which is it? Is it good or bad for your health? Does it cause weight gain/ make it harder to loose weight? I know all too well it’s addicting, but can it really be linked to insomnia with all the positive feedback from recent studies?

I know it’s all about moderation but how much is too much? How little does it take to have a positive effect towards your health?

Some links supporting your answers would be nice. Also, personal experiences are greatly appreciated.

Two types of diterpenes are present in coffee: kahweol and cafestol, both of which have been associated with increased risk of coronary heart disease. Metal filters, on the other hand, do not remove the oily components of coffee. On cancer development, coffee consumption has been shown to have minimal or no impact, positive or negative. Yes, it can also cause insomnia, many kids who drank it end up being late for school. I don’t know much about addiction. I think it also causes osteoporosis, but it’s a rare case, as you add milk, which strengthens bones, counteracting the bone corroding properties of coffee.

Can I count sex as exercise on my fitness journal?

I have a fitness journal. I have to do some sort of exercise every afternoon after work. I either swim 5 km, ride my bike 40 kms on the bike lanes, jog 5km, walk 20 km. I have other kinds of exercises that are hard to measure how many calories I burn, but I still count them as exercise: like playing football with friends, rappelling, playing baseball, ice-skating, or rollerblading. I’ve never lifted weights, but I should try someday. Last week, I had sex 3 afternoons, and I didn’t do any exercise those days. The only thing that ever keeps me from doing exercise is when my boyfriend wants to have sex. It takes me from 2 to 3 hours, and I end up really tried, it leaves me wanting to go to sleep afterwards.

Can I count sex as exercise on my fitness journal?

Holy crap 2-3 hours; you better count that as exercise!

A good fitness journal or magazine that is hiring a writer?

I’m thinking about becoming a freelance writer. I know a lot about fitness and I was wondering if there was some online journal or magazine that would hire a freelance writer after some sample essays?

The mantra to succeed in the freelance world is marketing your skills.

1. First, create a portfolio of articles in your areas of expertise and interest.

2. Use Google and other search engines to find e-mail IDs of online magazines and the online versions of print journals.

3. Next, go to your local library and get the e-mail IDs of local journals and newspapers.

4. Send e-mail to the editors of newspapers / magazines, expressing interest that you want to contribute articles to their publications. Attach to the e-mail one or more of your best writing samples. If the editors like your writing, they would contact you.

free fitness and nutrition software

July 15th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized

I would like to eat healthier and develop a fitnes schedule. Is there a free website that’ll help me?

I’ve been working for 7 years, but a recent move has shifted me off my routine and I’m looking to get back on track.

My goal is to lose 8 pounds and maintain. I’m comfortable with cardio equipment and free weights.

I’m looking for something to give me a nutrition & fitness plan OR I’m willing to pay for software that’ll track everything.

I try to avoid bringing questions to gym employees, because I’m not interested in paying for sessions.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Does anyone own or use a Quantum 210C or 210H Elliptical, or a Life Fitness X5i or X9i Elliptical?

I have Googled all over and found only 1 review for the Quantum Ellipticals, and just wanted to know if anyone has used or reviewed the new Quantum elliptical themselves. I’ve found quite a few Life Fitness reviews, and again, I just wanted real user reviews if I can find them. I’m interested in buying soon, and I’m doing my research now.

I would test each product out before buying.

fitness model diets

fitness model diets
Why do bodybuilder and fitness models all look for fad diets and gimmicks that don’t work?

rather than just eating right and exercising to turn their bodies into fat burning machines, like most (95%) dieter do? Bodybuilders must be really stupid, banging their heads against the wall and never seeing lasting results. Are they blind, can’t they see that eating the right foods will always lead to a toned healthy body. All they have to do is look at the super lean bodies of 95% of dieter and follow their eating habits, problem solved.

So that morons like you purchase their product to make them rich. Unlike a poor fat bastard as yourself.
