How do you know what is the best type of fitness equipment and the best place to buy it from?
I like the bowflex commercials and so forth for example. Plus the pilates gym stuff looks good and then the treadmill or cycles look good. I see them for sale everywhere! Qvc has some of the same products as advertised on the products own webpage for example. So where is the best place or store to buy equipment from? I see many at Wal-Mart, Sears, online… everywhere. I want one for strength training/toning and one for cardio. I don’t want to spend a fortune, but I want to invest in something that will last and give me good results.
I needed cardio with little to no impact so I purchased a Gazelle Elite Glider (Fitness Quest) I really like it & I can do toning on it as well.
My husband really likes his Total Gym Platinum because it uses his own body weight as resistance.
He almost got the Bowflex, but they were recalled because the bows had broken of some of them & they are big & bulky. They almost need a room to themselves.
As for choosing the right one, I think it is up to you & what you are looking for in the equipment you buy. Also, the room you have to accomodate the equipment. And price of course….
I ride my bike for transportation, fitness, fun and to save money on gas. I ride to work 10 miles each way. There are a few hills, but for the most part it’s pretty flat. It’s all on road or sidewalk with minimal cracks or potholes. I also like to strap on “The Pod Racer” (our kid trailer) and take my kids for rides. Usually just for a few miles.
I currently ride a 21 speed Schwinn Mountain Bike that I bought at Wal-Mart for about $125. It’s served its purpose for about 2 years, but I’m thinking of getting something new. It’s heavy and cumbersome. I only ever use maybe 1/3 of the gears (the faster/harder 1/3).
I don’t want/need anything fancy or expensive. I don’t care what brand it is. I don’t particularly care if it has shocks or not. I just want something that will be durable, efficient and fun to ride.
I plan on moving to Seattle in about a year. I need advice from someone who knows the area. Fitness is very important to me. I currently live in Texas, which has a warm climate. So, for exercise I have gotten use to jogging/running outside. When I move to Seattle, I’m wondering if I should invest in an exercise bike, due to the rain? How often do you think I’d be able to actually do my jogging/running outside? Do you think I should get an exercise bike when I move there?
I absolutely love the rain. So a majority of the time, couldn’t I just jog in it? I wouldn’t exercise everyday, so I could miss a day or two each week.
I’m not into gyms or anything. I was just wondering if I should get an exercise bike to rely on for the rainy days, but if it’s usually just a sprinkle, I could handle it right?
Avid Seattle runners (like myself) have no problem taking a jaunt in the rain. As mentioned before, a lot of our rain is a drizzle or a “mist” - so its actually pretty refreshing. I usually just wear normal shorts and a long sleeve tshirt - knowing I’m going to get pretty soaked.
If you’re a die-hard runner, you should be able to run just about every day of the year, since it rarely gets super cold in the winter.
A gym membership is great for those days when it’s raining really hard.
I am a soccer player and plan on stepping up to the varsity team at my school, one problem…I’m very smal (100 lbs) and the others girls are way bigger. Any quick ways to have this body by January?http://cache.eb.com/eb/image?id=90079&rendTypeId=4
And what are the best cleats for girls?
Price range: $25-$100
Jackets and shorts too!
best cleats: Copa Mundial (Adidas) around $100. They’re top notch. they’re kangaroo skin, so they mold to your foot. EXTREMELY comfy. its pricey, but worth it. ive bought them twice.
Jackets and shorts: just about anything.
Gaining weight: if you’re really into soccer and really want some muscle weight at the risk of looking … a little more manly, protein shakes are great. and working out at the gym or just running. running will get you stronger and will get your cardiovascular system working better for the game to increase your stamina
